Diwali is also a significant festival of Goa,India.Enjoy Diwali in Goa with lots of burning crackers and amusing sweets and gift.

Diwali is one of the most main Hindu carnivals and is celebrated on an impressive scale. Though Goa was populated by the Portuguese for a lengthy time, the impact of Hindu Gods and Goddesses hasn’t insipid through the years. The reason behind celebrating Diwali is the return of Rama to his state after he overthrown Ravana. Yet, in Goa, the festival is celebrated for various reasons. Legend has it that the devil Narakasura was killed by Lord Krishna. Narakasura had terrorized the locals, killed people of the town and exploited them. The day when lord Krishna came to the protection of these people falls a day before Lakshmi Puja.  People in Goa, celebrates Diwali largely on Naraka Chaturdashi, which is otherwise referred to as Choti Diwali. Every year, giant effigies of narakasura are complete using dry leaves, paper and crackers. People hold them in possessions, abuses it and burn them after the sunset.
Just like Diwali, people lit up their house with lamps and lights on this day and enjoy Naraka Chaturdashi Celebration in Goa. People with all the relatives come together to propose their prayer to Goddess Lakshmi, visits temples and then rupture crackers. On the event of Diwali, the lanes of Goa are abuzz with hundreds of youth putting mutually huge size effigies of devil Narakasura. The effigies would be arrogantly paraded and then set on flames on the eve of the celebration, marking the victory of good over evil.

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most celebrated festivals in Goa.Goa celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with great pomp each year.

Ganesh Chaturthi, commonly known as Ganpati Chovoth Festival, is one of the most celebrated festivals in Goa.Ganesh Chaturthi 2017 will begin on Friday, 25 August and ends on Tuesday,5 September. The amazing 11 day Ganesh Chaturthi carnival honors the birth of the much-loved Hindu elephant-headed god, Lord Ganesha. The start of the celebration sees huge, highly crafted statutes of Ganesha installed in homes and stage, which have been specially constructed and beautifully decorated. At the end of the celebration, the statutes are paraded through the streets, accompanied by much playing and dancing, and then flooded in the ocean. The mainly important and almost the national festival for Goan's is the Ganesh Chaturthi known as 'Chovoth'. The celebrations run into several days, at least two and half days, when puja of Gouri and Mahadev along with Ganapati, is performed, Gouri being drawn on paper and Mahadev on a coconut. On these days wedded women fast. On the Chovoth day, in the morning or evening, an earth hero of Ganapati is brought home. Ahead of that a pavilion or pandal is ready with bunches of betel nut, coconut, bananas and branches of mango-trees being compulsory ingredients of it. The puja is performed with the help of the priest.

Monsoon is also the wonderful time to enjoy the awesome waterfalls of Goa,India

The extended hot summer comes to an end as the month of June elapses, and the burnt Earth cools down with the nonstop downpour which rides in on the Monsoon winds. The monsoon experience brings out an overall different side to places to visit in Goa during monsoon. Dream swaying palms dancing to the song of the winds, charming lanes washed by rain waters, gloomy grey layers of wide clouds that rule the skies and swirling waters loud out at the beaches; there’s incredible about experiencing Goa in monsoon which tops the list of things to do in Goa in the months of July to September. Here is a little experience that you can spoil in, if you’re heading to Goa in the rains.
Expend some time with yourself; take a long walk on a beach.
Ditch your phone and camera, and take some money to get to the beach and maybe to ravine on some snacks on the beach.

Take a short trip to the marvelously deluged Dudhsagar Falls during the rains.
Far from the beaches and visitor hotspots, the woody hinterland of the State literally comes alive during the monsoon. And amongst the trendiest attractions off the beaten path are the Dudhsagar Falls. Located 60 kilometers from Panaji on NH4A, the Falls are so named for the fair frothy appearance of the water here.

Get a rented scooter to travel in the rains at just 175/-
If you like the little drops of rain splashing across your face as you zoom through the wind, this is highly recommended for you. Moreover, since it’s off season the bike rentals come cheap. It’ll cost you around INR 175 to INR 250 (based on how well you manage to bargain) while in Goa in monsoon season.

Goa is a place of endless fetes and celebrations, Monsoon time is no different!
